The Government of Goa on September 24, 2026, issued the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026 to further amend the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1974.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Schedule appended to the Goa Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1974 (Act No. 8 of 1974) (herein after referred to as the “Principle Act”), in PART ‘B’, in item (B), for the existing entry against serial No. (5), the following entry shall be substituted, namely:—
“(5) Construction equipment vehicles as defined under rule 2 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
1 % of the cost of the vehicle as annual tax or 9% of the cost of vehicle as one time tax at the time of registration.”.
